The sixth annual Friars Club Comedy Film Festival is back with a bunch of hilarity-centric features, docs and shorts, running April 1-5. This year’s opening night film will be the world premiere of James Roday’s “Gravy,” the “Psych” star’s directional debut. The dark comedy follows the Halloween horror-chaos that ensues after odd group of characters order a different kind of dish at a Mexican cantina.
“We’re excited to bring back the film festival, due to popular demand,” said Eric Johnson, executive director of the fest. “For an opening film, we’re looking for something unique, daring and
funny, with a fresh and original take on the comedy genre, and James Roday¹s film hits all the marks.”
